Since its inception in 1985, and through the vision of Lamar Hunt and the Hunt family, the Chiefs Charity Game, recognized as the top philanthropic game of its type in the NFL, has raised more than $15 million for local charities that support children in need.

For the 2021-2023 Chiefs Charity Games, the Hunt Family Foundation selected MOCSA (Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault) as the beneficiary, raising more than $1.4 million.

Over the three years of this partnership with the Chiefs, MOCSA has served 200,000 people in our community — helping survivors find hope and healing and making Kansas City a safer place for everyone.

The funds from the Chiefs Charity Game have enabled MOCSA to expand services including:

  • Establishing a new Community Level Prevention Department and hiring additional staff to focus on neighborhood partnerships and grassroots organizing to increase connection and address the root factors of community violence.
  • Increasing our education and prevention work in schools reaching 8,000 additional students annually.

“MOCSA helps victims of sexual assault become survivors through the support, healing and hope they provide. They also work tirelessly to administer educational programs designed to prevent, and ultimately, eradicate sexual violence,” Chiefs Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt said. “We are excited to provide MOCSA with additional resources to enhance the vital work they do in the Kansas City community.”

“Our work to prevent sexual violence through impactful programming helps students become leaders and schools become safer and more welcoming spaces,” MOCSA President and CEO Julie Donelon said. “We are thankful for the Chiefs as they’ve continued to help us amplify our message that together we can create a community free from sexual violence.”
