Upcoming Events
MOCSA’s Annual Events are incredibly important and impactful, and fun! The majority of our funding comes from restricted state and local government grants, so the $1.2 million in unrestricted funds we raise through community support at our events allow us to cover the costs that our grants won’t cover. Unrestricted dollars are often the hardest dollars to raise, so your support of MOCSA through our events is so appreciated! (And you may qualify for a 70% tax credit in Missouri, just ask us about it!)

Our Annual Events
Luncheon
MOCSA’s Community Luncheon is typically the largest fundraiser of the year. In addition to raising funds for services and programs, the goal is to increase awareness about the organization’s impact in the Kansas City metro and to educate the community on important issues related to sexual violence. The event draws influential members of the community who have a vested interest in changing the culture and the conversation around sexual violence. Nearly 1,000 attendees participate in this event at the Downtown Marriott Muehlebach Hotel.
Night Out with MOCSA
This event (formally Young at Art) benefits children and adults who have experienced sexual abuse and assault. Approximately 500 attendees enjoy an entertaining evening of art, music, cocktails, and silent and live action.
Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM)
Every year during April MOCSA honors survivors, supporters, volunteers, service providers, and community advocates who are striving to end and prevent sexual violence. This is a national campaign by the National Sexual Violence Resource Center. Local activities vary but often include #30DaysofSAAM, Day of Action, community partnerships, outreach, and fundraising.
