During the month of April, MOCSA honors survivors, supporters, volunteers, service providers, and community advocates who are striving to end and prevent sexual violence.

April 7 – The Cauldron and South Stand Brunch Tailgate – Stop by the bus, give a donation of $10 or more, and in return we’ll give you a plate and access the food. 100% of brunch donations will go to Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault (MOCSA). MOCSA exists to improve the lives of those impacted by sexual abuse and assault and to prevent sexual violence in our community.

April 17 – UMKC Take Back the Night – Take Back The Night (TBTN) is the oldest worldwide movement to stand against sexual violence. The mission of TBTN is to “Shatter the Silence. Stop the Violence. Ending all forms of sexual violence, including sexual assault, sexual abuse, trafficking, stalking, gender harassment, and relationship violence, and to support survivors.
April 17 – Taco Bell Cantina Give Back fundraiser for MOCSA
April 18 – One Mic Stand at Made MOBB – One Mic Stand is committed to providing an inclusive and conducive environment for everyone. This a safe space for all of Kansas City’s artist and admirers of art to come express and enjoy themselves. More info: https://www.facebook.com/OneMicStandKC/
April 23 – EVAWI Instagram live interview with MOCSA – 2pm Eastern/11am Pacific. Tune into Instagram Live for an interview with MOCSA’s Prevention staff, Brandee Alexander and Sydney Debrick. They’ll be talking with EVAWI’s Alison Jones-Lockwood about our community violence prevention initiatives.
