After months of hard work and anticipation, MOCSA is thrilled to unveil a new chapter in our journey—a fresh logo and brand that will carry us into the next 50 years. This logo, only the second in our organization’s history, represents not just a design refresh but a reflection of our evolving mission, our resilient spirit, and our commitment to creating a brighter future.

MOCSA’s journey to this moment began in our founding years when we didn’t even have a logo.  It wasn’t until the early 1980s that a visual identity was creating marking our legitimacy and the lasting impact we were starting to make. This logo has faithfully represented MOCSA for decades, symbolizing the strength and connection we’ve built for survivors.

With our 50th anniversary approaching, the decision to refresh our brand was not taken lightly. We knew we wanted something that not only told the story of our history but also carried our vision forward. That’s when our long-time partner, Signal Theory, came in with an inspired idea: what if we took the opportunity of our anniversary and our new office headquarters to refresh our visual identity? With their creative talents and deep understanding of MOCSA, Signal Theory generously donated their time and resources to bring this vision to life.

The subtle name shift from “Counter” to “Countering” underscores MOCSA’s proactive approach in the fight against sexual violence. The deliberate strike through the letters “SA” isn’t just a design element; it’s a bold, visual commitment to our mission—standing against sexual assault, challenging its presence in our communities, and working to diminish its impact on survivors’ lives.

MOCSA staff gathered in high spirits on October 24 to celebrate the official reveal of the new logo, marking this exciting chapter with an internal launch event. Laughter, applause, and shared stories filled the room as team members reflected on the organization’s journey, the meaningful evolution of the logo, and what it represents for the future. This memorable gathering served as a heartfelt tribute to MOCSA’s history and the collective effort of everyone involved in the rebranding process. From marketing to program representatives, every voice played a part in shaping this new brand, making the celebration feel like a true team victory. It was a moment of pride and joy, uniting everyone in the mission and fueling the shared commitment to continue making an impact in the lives of those we serve.

In developing this new logo, we set out to create something that would embody MOCSA’s essence while remaining adaptable for years to come. The design process was truly collaborative, involving our Board, staff members from across departments, volunteers, and countless conversations and revisions. This logo has been thoughtfully crafted to honor the resilience of survivors, representing a journey from fragmentation to clarity, connection, and strength—a story central to MOCSA’s mission.
