MOCSA’s counseling department is trained to specifically support survivors of sexual abuse and assault. We offer therapy and support groups for men and women, and these services are available no matter how recent or long it’s been since a sexual assault incident. Counseling is available to adolescent and adult victims of sexual assault at a number of locations throughout the metropolitan area, including our main office location.
Counseling services are also available for adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. For many adults, childhood sexual abuse can have a lasting influence on their lives as adults. MOCSA provides a safe place for adult survivors to develop knowledge and skills for healing and change.
Individual counseling is available for adults who have experienced sexual violence at any age. While healing begins with the individual, personal growth is often strengthened by the opportunity to share with others. Ongoing support groups are available for Missouri and Kansas residents.
MOCSA therapists provide a variety of evidenced-based treatment modalities, including EMDR, yoga-based group therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and brain-based interventions. Clients identify their own strengths, and are supported as they navigate through their healing journey. For more information, please call our 24-hour crisis line numbers.
